John Lewis and Co new Brand Identity by Egelnick and Webb

We normally don’t write about design firms and hangtags on clothes but we had to make an exception for these labels you see here. John Lewis, a menswear retail store will have a new brand identity for their private label. John Lewis Menswear private label reached out to Egelnick and Webb to develop a brand identty for their new contmeporary label; John Lewis and Co. launching 13th September.

John Lewis wanted to create a new menswear range of authentic clothing with a heritage feel, timeless and classic. Using premium yarns and fabrics with contemporary tailoring and styling to target a younger, more stylish and discerning menswear market.

John Lewis approached Egelnick and Webb to create the brand identity, based on their reputation working with fashion brands; House of Holland, Matthew Williamson, Jonathan Kelsey, Jaeger (having created Boutique by Jaeger brand recently), and global branding for Samsonite and Royal Salute Whiskey. The combination of high fashion design and global brand strategy perfectly fitted John Lewis’ ambition for a menswear overhaul.

See more pictures below of the hangtags and labels which you will be seeing next month on the John Lewis and Co. line. Besides the cool designs from Egelnick and Webb make sure to also check out the John Lewis line in September.
