Intex Swimming Pool Review

So, summer is almost here for you folks up north but in warm weather like Florida and California we have already been enjoying the beaches and pools. That is why we are so excited about our new Intex Swimming Pool, the 12ft X 30in Easy Set Pool Set.

For those not wanting to install an in-ground pool or just can’t afford it well these above ground pools from Intex Corp sure do the trick to keep you happy all summer long.

Easy Breezy

We received the Pool Set and it was easy to set up. First, lay out some tarp or cloth if you already have it or you may need to buy that separately. Then, simply take out the pool set out of the box, unfold and lay it out on top of the tarp. Make sure you stretch it out in a complete circle not oval and that there are no wrinkles in the middle of the canvas.

So, at first you may think the whole pool is inflatable but it is not. Only the top portion ring is inflatable and the rest just fills up by adding water. Therefore, make sure the entire pool is sitting in the place where you want it so that you do not have to move it later. After filling the pool with at least 1 inch of water start stretching the center out making it neat and wrinkle-free. Then finish filling up the pool. Make sure the filter is connected and the plugs that come with the set are not installed. There are no instructions on what to do with those plugs so I had to figure it out on my own.

In the beginning I installed them and for a day or two I was wondering why the filter wasn’t working and of course it didn’t work because I placed the plugs in that came with the pool set. Silly me! However, if you are installing the filter after the pool is completely filled with water then you will need those plugs. I decided to install the filter while water was filling up.

Extras

We suggest you buy 1″ chlorine tablets and a floater to keep the water clear. You may have to maintain it in different ways depending of what type of water you are using. That is why you need to make sure you check with your local pool store so that they can advise you on what else you may need to keep your water clean.

Once the water is filled up to the top below the rim the whole family can enjoy being inside. The beauty of this pool is that I am able to fit nicely and looks durable. I am 6’1″ and can lay down on my back. My 3 year old is also able to swim inside the pool and when standing the water level reaches his chest. Of course we recommend you have floaties or paddle pals for your kids because the pool is recommended for ages 6 and up.

So make a splash all summer long with the Intex® Easy Set® inflatable pool that is easy to set up and store. This pool will make your backyard the place to hang out and chill all summer as your family can relax and play. Friends will also want to join you because you can throw two or three big blow up floaties in there and enjoy your cocktails.

That is why it is important to always run the filter and clean your water because you do not know what type of drink may spill by accident. Hydro Aeration® Technology is incorporated to the cartridge filter pump providing improved circulation and filtration, improved water clarity, and increased negative ions at the water surface. A 110-120 volt Krystal Clear™ cartridge filter pump is included and is very easy to install – just hook up the hoses and enjoy clean refreshing water. Pump flow rate: 530 gallons, System flow rate: 475 gallons. Make sure to always check your filter because it does get pretty dirty fast; and if you can not rinse off the dirt then make sure you have a new filter to replace the old dirty one. .

In case you are also wondering the Water capacity for this pool is approximately 1,485 gallons. This means you will want to take good care of the water so that you are not constantly draining it and filling it back up. If the canvas material does get slimly, even after the chlorine tablets then we use a special brush/mop to wipe it down and clean it. However, because we have two small kids we have been draining and refilling it every week or two weeks depending on how slimy the pool gets.

The last thing we got, which we recommend is the Intex pool cover to keep any dirt, bugs and leaves out plus keep the water warm for the next day.
