Planning a trip can seem daunting, especially when it has to live up to expectations of your last great one. Do you remember all the steps you had to take to make sure it was a memorable trip? There is so much information about travel out there and it always seems like somebody has the best deal. Well, below are some tips on how to plan your next trip.
Having a set of steps when planning a trip will make everything seem easier and more practical to tackle because you are doing little things at a time to add up to one huge trip, instead of trying to plan everything all at once.
Destination
First, ask yourself what type of trip you want to take. Say you land on a relaxing beach vacation. Now you should research calm and relaxing beaches. You don’t want to plan a vacation to relax and have a drink on the beach and end up at some spring break town where everyone is listening to loud party music and you can’t hear yourself think.
Tickets
Once you have found your destination and you believe it is the correct one, book your tickets. You should be doing this well in advance so you are trying to get the best deal. Also, research what day to buy your tickets on. Just switching from a Tuesday to a Wednesday can somehow make a world of difference. The flight industry has a secret code, but it can be cracked.
Hotel
Now the destination is picked and the flight is booked. On to the hotel or AirBnB. Make sure you look at both options. There are pros and cons to both, and there are even pros and cons to pricing in both. If you don’t want to be bothered with any pick up or cleaning and want the luxury of room service, then a hotel is for you. However, if you want to “live as the locals do,” then try an AirBnB. Your host may be able to give hotspots that only locals know. You can even check out real estate sites such as Bellevue real estate in the area you are searching to see what they suggest for entertainment for those who are trying to live in that area.
Packing
The big three things of travel are all picked and booked, now it is time for the fun part, the shopping and packing. You may have to pick up a nicer outfit or two if you’re going to a fancier spot than you are used to. Or you may just want to spruce up your wardrobe and donate your older items. Whatever the reason may be, shopping for an upcoming vacation always puts you in the mood for travel. Don’t forget your airport outfit! You want to be comfortable traveling and getting to your destination. So, if you are traveling from a colder climate to a warmer climate, wear layers and pack sandals in your carry-on bag and vice versa for the way home. Also make sure you have airport essentials like hand wipes and sanitizer, a neck pillow, blanket, and snacks and drinks.
When all of this comes to fruition, you will feel ready to travel. You can plan your activities in advance while you are booking the hotel or you can just go with the flow when you get there. The most important thing you need to bring is your sense of adventure!
