Worx Turbine Fusion Leaf Blower, Mulcher & Vacuum Review

This week has been the perfect weather to clean up the backyard and garden but what was even better was having the 12 AMP WG510 Turbine Fusion Leaf Blower, Mulcher & Vacuum from Worx.

The all-in-one Worx combo is electric not gas so one needs a long extension cord to clean up the back, side and front of the house. While opening the box I was surprise how simple everything looked inside. There were not many parts to put together, which made it easy to just connect the two tubes, motor housing, plug in and start cleaning.

Put it to use

So, how do you guys  clean or pick up the leaves? Before having the Worx leaf blower I would just rake all the leaves to a corner and then pack them into biodegradable brown bags. Now I have options!

1. I can still rake the leaves into a corner and then vacuum and mulch them up into the leaf collection bag.

2. Blow the leaves to a section of the backyard and then vacuum and mulch them up into the leaf collection bag

3. Simply just vacuum them up on the spot while they mulch into the leaf collection bag.

Which one would you do? The 3rd option sounds the easiest right? Well, I actually ended up cleaning my backyard with option 1 and I will tell you why.

First, my extension cord wasn’t long enough to reach the end of the yard. So note, make sure you know how long the extension cord needs to be to begin and complete the job. Second, my leaves were a bit moist so they weren’t easily moving up and around or being vacuumed. Plus I had just cut weeds and stems from and around the vegetable garden. Leafs should be dry to blow away or vacuum effortlessly.

Also, any tiny garbage, rock, branches, stems, acorns, debris, or plastic could get stuck and ruin the impeller. These things also clog up the motor, which causes you to stop and clean the blades every second. Lastly, I kind of enjoy getting a mini workout raking leaves and like knowing I am controlling where leaves go. However, I do not like picking them up and packing them so having the vacuum and mulcher really helped. In the end I was able to use the mulch on my garden

Attaching the leaf collection bag is quick and easy!

First, open the vacuum cover by pressing the orange tab at the back of the motor housing and opening the screen towards the nozzle until it stays in place. Take the bag accessory by the handle and rest the tab at the front of the opening into the notch on the body of the TURBINE FUSION near the motor housing opening. Pivot the bag closed by pulling the handle towards the motor housing until the orange tab snaps into place.

The WG510 TURBINE FUSION Leaf Blower, Mulcher & Vacuum has a 2-speed control. The control is in the perfect position for one-handed operation. To change the speed of the blower, use the orange switch at the front of the handle to go from low to GO!

Each TURBINE FUSION leaf blower comes with some minor assembly required, but it will take less than 3 minutes and will not require tools.

To assemble the TURBINEFUSION, snap together the two nozzle pieces, making sure that the grooved tabs on the front nozzle piece fit securely into the corresponding cutouts on the back nozzle piece. Fit the wider end of the tube over the front of the motor housing, lining up the pegs on the motor housing to the channels on the nozzle. Turn clockwise to lock and secure. That’s it!

When time comes to put away the TURBINE FUSION you can disassemble after you’ve used it. Press the orange clip under the nozzle to release the nozzle and twist the nozzle counterclockwise. Separating the motor and nozzle makes the tool more compact for transport or easy storage in tight spaces.
