What is the Greatest Car of All Time?

Car lovers the world over have been debating the age-old question of what is the greatest of all time for decades. Ask anyone and the chances are slim that any two answers will ever be same, which simply adds to the intrigue surrounding the whole debate.

In an attempt to solve this mystery once and for all, we’ve selected five of the best in an attempt to decide on a clear winner.

Aston Martin Vanquish

British manufacturers are not exactly regarded as being prolific when it comes to producing iconic cars, but the Vanquish and TVR Tuscan Speed 6 (see below) deserve their moment in the spotlight. It’s quite understated in comparison for some of its rivals – moody, almost – but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Oh, and James Bond drove one – enough said!

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Money may not be able to buy you love, as the Beatles memorably once sang, but it will get you the most expensive street car on the market – and you can fall head over heels for that instead! The Bugatti Veyron can hit 60mph (100km/h) from a standing start in an astonishing 2.46 seconds.  Even more impressive is the fact that the Super Sport was clocked doing 267mph in August 2010, which is a land speed record for a production car. What’s left to say about this little beauty?

Ferrari 250 GTO

No list of the ultimate cars is complete without a Ferrari, and the 250 GTO is as good as any of models that the Italian manufacturer has churned out down the years. It may be nearly half a century old, but it’s still easy on the eye some 50 years on. That less than 40 were ever made is an absolute tragedy, although it has helped to make it a real collector’s item.

TVR Tuscan Six Speed

Apparently, it took two years for designers to sculpt the Tuscan Speed 6, which was undoubtedly time well spent. With its distinctive wave bonnet and notable performance – from zero to 100mph in eight seconds and then back to nought in just over four seconds – it’s stylish, sophisticated and utterly fierce.

Porsche 911 GT3

Take a Porsche 911, which in itself is one of the most iconic cars of the last few decades, add a few tasty extras and you’ll get the GT3. This must be considered as one of, if not, the best-looking Porsche models ever made, and the driving experience doesn’t disappoint either.

Bugatti Veyron
Verdict
– It’s got to be the Bugatti Veyron – an absolute beast of a car! Although it might leave you a little out of pocket, over a million dollars out of pocket and that’s before car insurance and fuel!
