A bit late but worth still checking out either online or in the stores, the vintage-inspired What Goes Around Comes Around Fall/Winter 2009 Collection is a fusion of 1980's punk and Old World Victorian with hints of eras spanning the 1920's to the 1940's. Creative Director and What Goes Around Comes Around co-founder Gerard Maione drew inspiration from the exquisite details of the romantic, yet rough concept of a Turn of the Century saloon meets bordello.
The men's collection is a blend of English gentleman with punk rock edge. It offers a more serene mix of color but with an abundance of prints, from plaids and paisleys to checks and stripes. The shades of muted black, grey and blue replicate a sophisticated saloon atmosphere and hints of purple and cranberry supply a contrasting richness to the garments. The collection consists of several three piece suits, distinctive and modern outerwear and fine Italian and Japanese woven shirts. A few of the more notable looks include a wax cotton fabric made into a trench and a cropped motorcycle jacket, a 1930's inspired buckle-back pant and a hooded vest.
