Swiss Army Knives were always a boyhood favorite and coveted by every Cub Scout and Boy Scout in America. As an adult and tinker junky that impression has not diminished any. IT Professionals and pocket knife fans will appreciate the CyberTool 34 multi-tool pocket knife for it’s everyday usefulness and the quality that the Victorinox brand is known for since it started producing knives for the Swiss Army in 1891.

Victorinox was originally and is again today the sole supplier to the Swiss Army for the Swiss Army Knife. After complaints of favoritism and in the interests of diplomacy, the Swiss government in 1908 decided to also commission the Wenger company to produce knives for the Swiss Army, splitting up the contract; In 2005 Victorinox acquired the Wenger company.

Accented with a Cellidor polished translucent Ruby Red handle, the Victorinox Swiss Army CyberTool 34 Multi-tool measures 1″ x 1″ x 3.5″ and weighs 5.5oz and shows off it’s familiar Cross Shield emblem which is unmistakably Victorinox Swiss Army.

The CyberTool 34 feels great in hand, I almost don’t want to put it down… ever.

The CyberTool 34 multi-tool features an integrated Hex Driver and Bit Tray for quick tinkering ability at your fingertips. A ball bearing embedded on each attachment ensures that the bit seats itself snugly into the socket or tray. The hinged bit tray easily folds and safely recesses into the body of the knife. At 5.5 ounces and 3.5″ width the CyberTool 34 might not be the most comfy to carry around in your pocket, but with the carry pouch (sold separately) you can conveniently stow this baby away on your belt for quick access, clean dust/lint free scratch resistant storage.

You’ll find your standard long and short blade, scissors, toothpick, corkscrew, tweezers, screwdriver and can opener to help with everyday tasks. But what sets the CyberTool 34 apart from the crowd are some added accouterments that are incredibly useful such as the Pliers, Bit Wrench with Tray to hold the extra double-sided 4mm/5mm Hex Socket, #0/#1 Pozidriv, Philips and Flat bits. There’s even a metal poker that resides next to the toothpick.

A full list of tools can be found here: small blade, large blade, scissors, pin stainless, multi-purpose hook (parcel carrier), key ring, corkscrew, toothpick, sewing eye, reamer, ballpoint pen with, -also to set DIP-Switch, tweezers, mini-screwdriver, Bit Wrench with 4mm/5mm Hex Socket, #0/#1 Pozidriv Bits, Cap lifter with Screwdriver and Wire Stripper.

Here’s an interesting little factoid; Every able-bodied Swiss male when coming of adult age 17-20, must serve a mandatory service in the Swiss Army and will remain on active reserve until the age of 45. That means every healthy adult male up to age 45 has a semi-automatic or even automatic weapon inside their closet with full military gear! Switzerland remains the only European country to never be invaded and taken over. I imagine that breaking and entering theft in Switzerland is kept to a minimum.
