There’s an App for That Android, Blackberry or iPhone/iPad

Men, listen up! You will not be the first to admit that part of being a man means you never ask for directions and you also have it all figured out. Only problem with this is that while traveling, you’re out of your comfort zone and wish you had the answers at your fingertips. Well, if you own an Android, Blackberry or iPhone/iPad you will have the answers at your fingertips plus more and other’s will be none-the-wiser.

I’ve narrowed down a list of a few app’s that can help you be the hero, best dad or yes the “know it all” man you make yourself out to be.

Howcast – You can learn to do just about anything from anywhere with Howcast’s family of mobile apps. Need to replace your tire? Or remember the ingredients for a banana pudding recipe? How about find tips to survive a long airport layover? Howcast apps are optimized for each device and connection, making it easy to find and view almost any how-to from wherever you are.

Goby – Helps you find fun things to do. Whether you’re traveling across the country (only available in the US) or staying close to home this weekend, Goby’s got you covered with over 350 categories of things to do in every city and town in the US!

Undercover Tourist – This one here is for the Dad’s phone. Planning trips to Disney World is great, but kids can become extremely irritated waiting in long lines on what should have been a fun day. Avoid the lines with Undercover Tourists ride wait times, find easy ways to navigate to each ride and even find restaurants along the way. Once the day has come to an end, it will even use GPS to help you locate your car. – at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Disney’s Hollywood Studio and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

SitOrSquat – Need to find a restroom ASAP and you’re in the middle of touring gorgeous San Francisco? This app is designed to help you find the closest public restroom anywhere in the world, with details like hours, whether they offer changing tables and of course if you’re a man the “sit” or “squat” recommendation.

Google Translate – If you’re a world traveler, you know how difficult another language can be. Google Translate, can help save the day. It can translate words and phrases into 57 different languages using voice recognition software. Speak (or type) the phrase you’d like to decipher and the translation will appear on your phone’s screen, and, depending on the language, can also be done on audio playback (not available in all languages).
