The second collaboration between Converse and high fashion label sak have teamed up to bring you two-one-of a kind sneakers for the sak x Converse First String 2010 Summer Collection. Using traditional shoe making as a basis of design, creating an old-school feel but keeping the modernism that we’ve all come to recognize as the Converse style.
Bringing the conventional feel to the making of the shoe really makes the sneaker itself a work of art, because each pair will have its own character and individuality. This new line is more grown up than what we’re used to seeing from Converse, and that’s a good thing! What really caught my eye, was the precision to detail by adding a touch of distinctiveness to the sneaker, which includes a Converse logo at the end of the shoelaces, which I’ve never seen before, making the style that much more prominent.
The One Star sits in a black leather with brown accents and play into the Ryusaku Hiruma-designed capsule for a high-end appeal. The second set, a pair of Jack Purcells, uses a similar design capsule, but dresses it in white leather and a tan toe cap.
