On September 30th, Russell Simmons Launched the Argyleculture Store inside Macy’s Herald Square in NYC. Debuting the brand’s Fall 2010, Russell Simmons chose Tyson Beckford to be the face of the Argyleculture campaign. Argyleculture is an all American brand that infuses original detailing with the buttoned-up styling of men’s professional attire, including suits, argyle vests, zip-up sweaters, plaid oxfords, polos, and denims of different washes. It almost competes with Tommy Hilfiger, however Russell Simmons has an advantage since he also captures the urban market with this brand, a market Tommy Hilfiger didn’t want under his sleeve even though it was the market that helped him increase his empire in the late 90’s. To top the night a few celebrities came out that evening to support including DJ Ed Lover, Model Jaslene Gonzalez, the beautiful Heidi Allende and Director Bret Ratner just to name a few. It seems like there’s a new celebrity doing an appearance in Herald Square every week. It definitely pays to have Macy’s flagship store there!
