The Zoom H2n device features 4 different recording modes: Mid-Side (MS) stereo, 90° X/Y stereo, 2-channel and 4-channel surround sound. It offers five different mic’s in its design. Mid-side stereo recording coupled with a uni-directional mid mic captures sound from left and right. You can even go into a raw mode where you can control the fine tune of this balance. These mid-side stereo recording ability allows you to record vibrant, clear and robust audio giving you a more realistic 360 degree output. The files are recorded into 2 files for more flexibility during post production.
With a 3.5mm audio jack in and out as well as a mini-usb port to charge, it makes this device versatile and convenient. A convenient Gain wheel allows you to increase or lower gain easily or leave it on auto-gain. Save your files to the SD memory card and transfer them to your computer for post production.
It offers 20 hours of battery life for high quality recordings and a great new data recovery feature that will retain your data even in the event of battery loss. It will operate on 2 AA alkaline batteries in an emergency but do yourself a favor and purchase some Sanyo Eneloop rechargables, you’ll thank yourself later. AC adapter included in case you can find a wall to plug into somewhere on the fly.
