I never thought the day would come where graffiti would be regarded and appreciated as a form of art. Operation Design is a non-for-profit organization created three years ago by a group of professionals in NYC making that idea possible. Their mission: for NYC students to find inspiration & motivation in their daily work as aspiring artists. Their latest creation, is a collection of iconic Eames® Molded Plywood Chairs as re-imagined by 20 prominent graffiti and street artists including Billi Kid and Blanco will be up for live auction beginning May 11 through June 1st (bidding starts at $1,000). To drive traffic to the auction, Barneys will display the one-of-a-kind limited edition collection in the windows of Barneys New York.
