So here’s one for all you music fans out there. The Swedish design Company, Teenage Engineering creates the OP-1 (best know for their Styrofoam turntable kit as well as their Modular Studio System Work Lights). Its absolutely perfect for creating and composing electronic beats and ambiences on the fly. The most noticeable feature of the OP-1 is the Amoled display at 60 frames per second. The device boasts of 14 effects, 8 different types of synth engines, an intuitive sampler and multiple sequencer types. The OP-1 also has a four track tape recorder, and by modern standards is considered ground breaking. It also comes with a USB connection which also allows it to function as a software controller as well as a mass storage device where one can drag and drop files between the computer and the OP-1.

Apparently David Mollerstedt is the main man behind the creation of the OP-1. He was previously accredited with the creation of the Elektron Machinedrum. If this is true then the OP-1 most definitely is a masterpiece of music production. The Elektron Machinedrum is considered to be one of the most intuitive pieces of electronic music equipment on the planet today. The OP-1 was showcased at the 2009 NAMM festival and was available in the market since 2010. We’re sorry for the late update on the device it’s just that we hadn’t heard of it until we saw it in that video by Swedish House Mafia and Pharrel Williams.
