On September 7th skateboarders took over the runway at the NUMBER:Lab Spring 2012 show. Every season Luis M. Fernandez has shown us men that wearing fashionable gear is definitely possible when performing a sport. This season the designer borrowed from both the French Riviera in the 1930s and contemporary skater style to craft a collection of graphic, athletic-inspired men’s wear that was marked by collaged stripes, inventive use of performance fabric and high-contrast color.
Key pieces included the color-blocked board shorts, striped pegged pants, cadet jackets, and the fractal black-and-white print created in collaboration with artist Joseph La Piana.
Check out the NUMBER:Lab Spring 2012 pictures below and let us know if this sporty-chic collection will now be your new gymwear. We sure love this line and we are already looking forward to seeing what other sport will be introduce next season.
