McLaren’s MP4-12C GT3 Moment Of Truth. McLaren has reached its moment of truth after it released the MP4-12C which was heavily subject to positive reviews. The company which was first a racing team, then turned automaker is back to being a racing team again with the release of the MP4-12C GT3. It is the first GT outfit from McLaren ever since the F1 GTR.
Once the GT3 was released, the company took 20 orders for the automobile from various independent racing teams for next year. Prior to this, once the GT3 was released, the company took it back to the dashboard in order to set up a series of updates regarding the car’s preliminary testing.
A trio of the GT3’s is going to be tested at the 24 hours of Spa at the famous racetrack in Belgium, however this is not the first time that the MP4-12C has been driven at Spa. The car was already driven alongside other competitors at the British GT racing championship sometime this month itself. Since it was an exposition entry, the results of the race didn’t count for anything even though the car had placed 12th in the first race and 4th in the second one.
However, in the new test run of the car at Spa, McLaren is taking 3 of the GT3’s with them along with ten drivers to prove what the car can really do. The first driver will be McLaren’s factory test driver, Chris Goodwin. The second one will be the head of the CRS racing team, Andrew Kirkaldy, and the third driver will be from VonRyan Racing, who is one of the GT3’s first customers.
