The Leica V-LUX 20 Digital Camera is a high performance camera. It comes with a DC Vario-Elmar 4.1-49.2 mm/f 3.3-4.9 ASPH Lens. This means that it has a super zoom with a 35 millimeter equivalent of 25-300 millimeters.
The ability to go from a wide angle to super telephoto is possible with the help of a 12x zoom lens. Even in low light, you will still be able to get those sharp and crisp photos with the help of the optical image stabilization. One can make large photographic prints by high quality files that are produced by a 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor. There are three different aspect ratios to choose from 16:9, 3:2, and 4:3.
The camera is built for both the amateur photographer as well as the professional one. For the beginner, it has many automatic settings that make it user friendly, while it also gives the professional photographer the ability to manual control his settings. There is a bright 3 inch LCD display while all images can be stored on SDHC, SD or SXCD memory cards. For the purpose of editing, there are Photoshop elements included as well.
In addition to all these features, the Leica V-LUX 20 also comes with the GPS feature that records the geographical coordinates of the local time and location of every picture taken and stores this information in the data of the image files. With the help of this, the V-LUX 20 has access to almost 500,000 of such points all over the world.
This GPS function however is not available in China and other places surrounding it where no satellite signal is available.
