Man’s Travel: How will you pack for the trip?

Packing can be overwhelming, we are not entirely sure of what you need to bring or what you’re going to need to get to where you’re going. It can just be a lot to think about. In terms of man’s view, it is almost clear that, they do not want to carry to many things and ultimately a heavy luggage on their journey.

While packing for a vacation the most important thing to keep in mind is the length of the trip and the climate, as it helps you decide the amount of clothing you will need. Here are a few ways which will help you get your bags packed in an efficient way:

Prepare a packing list

Packing is not an easy task, if you are going on a long trip or a short one, it’s not easy to remember all the items that you are willing to carry so it is always better to make a checklist of every item you plan to take on your trip. From our past experience, we can say that, often male travelers do not have a proper list. As a result, some of the important items like shaving accessories may left behind.

This will include clothing, toiletries, shoes, medication, snacks, electronics, etc., The added advantage of having a checklist is that it will also help when packing for the trip back home.

Choose the right travel bag

Before you even decide what to pack, it is important to find a travel bag that fits all your stuff and is easy to carry. The most important consideration is the length of your trip, and another thing which impacts is whether it is an international vacation or not.

It is also very important to buy a bag that has a good warranty. Traveling with a piece of luggage with a broken handle or zip is the worst, so be careful when you are choosing your bag. Travel luggage comes in a variety of shapes and sizes from backpacks to rolling suitcases.

Check the Weather before you start packing

Packing for any weather and any trip in a bag is possible, but it is important to pack specifically for the trip and resist the urge to carry every single thing, for every possible eventuality. Always start with a basic carry-on packing list and then adjust it for the weather you expect.

Plan Outfits in Advance

Planning the entire outfits including shoes and accessories is one of the best things to do as it helps to maximize the space. Although we have a tendency to take everything, in reality, you need far less than you think.

It’s always better to choose versatile accessories. When traveling, accessories like bags and shoes can be the most cumbersome, so try to choose outfits that can utilize the same few sets of accessories.

Travel size bottles for Toiletries

Packing big bottles of liquids like creams, shampoo, face wash, conditioners, etc. for travel can be a pain as they either leak or take up a lot of space so instead of carrying huge or small bottles of shampoo, face wash, etc. a better way is to buy empty travel bottles and fill them up with all your essentials. Many face washes for men and women come in travel size variants these days.

For liquids like hair sprays, toner we can use mini spray bottles, creams and foundations can go into small round containers. And then these bottles and containers can be labeled to keep them all identified, these containers carry just the right amount of stuff you will be needing for your vacation and also saves up a lot of space in your bag.

Put Cords in Pouches to prevent tangles

If you have a lot of cords, managing cable clutter while on the go is hard. But there are few ways to keep the cords organized and tangle-free.

  •   Binder clips are a great tool for keeping your workspace organized, and they’re helpful while traveling too. The clip can be snapped onto your seat pocket and hang your earbuds from them.
  •   Use twist ties that come with a box of trash bags or purchase ones specifically designed for cord management.
  • Cord tacos are little leather or fabric pouches with a snap keep cord looped well.

Use separate Shoe Bags and laundry bags

While you are packing your shoes, the bottom of your shoes are sometimes dirty, so make sure you always put your shoes in bags to avoid any dirt from getting on your clean clothes.

Carry a laundry bag to separate dirty clothes from the clean ones as it helps in preventing the clean clothes from getting stinky and also it makes unpacking easier.

Lay Things out first and Fold clothes as small as possible

It is important to lay everything out before any items go into the bag, seeing everything clearly before you start packing would help you fit things in a logical way.

Folding your clothes properly can reduce wrinkles and prevent damage to the fabric and also try and fold your clothes as small as possible to maximize space, different types of fabric or clothing require slightly different folding technique, here are few:

  • Many people swear by rolling their clothes, by using this method one can fit more clothes and in some cases, it reduces wrinkles and also you can see your clothes easily as they aren’t stacked on top of each other.
  • Packing cubes is also a common method as they make organizing your clothes and outfits easier, it compresses your clothes, and lets you isolate dirty clothes from clean ones.

To ensure ultimate safety, place breakable items like jewelry or glass wrapped in socks and tucked into shoes inside the luggage.

Packing all your essentials

First in the Ziplock sections place your shoes, hair tools, hat, etc. and in the other sections goes in the clothes where one has to make sure to fill every inch of space.

The toiletries are placed one by one into a large zipper-lock bag, the camera medicine will go into the middle of your suitcase on top of the clothes. Money, passport, identification card can go inside your wallet and it is not necessary for these items to go inside your suitcase because you do not want the hassle of unzipping the large suitcase.

Finally, everything is packed, now it’s time for your trip. Packing allows you to be more organized and prepared. The process of packing is not rocket science, anyone can do it if they know the right way to do so, just do not go overboard and pack unnecessary stuff. For a better journey, better packing is essential.
