As the temperatures become warmer on the East Coast, the days are also getting longer (daylight savings: March 10th, 2019). The season of winter is beginning to fade. It’s time to put away the parkas and snow boots, and wear weather appropriate attire. Jackets (such as bombers, bikers, and denim) are back in rotation. The ‘Have A Nike Day’ collection just became available in stores and online. Nike released three special edition Air Max’s on March 1st. The ‘Have A Nike Day’ Air Max 1, Air Max 95, and Air Max 97 have a very ‘spring’ colorway of space purple, bleached coral, jade, and black (at least, that’s how it’s classified online, the jade is really a robin egg blue à la Tiffany Blue). This shoe collection is perfect for the upcoming spring. Out of the three, the Nike Air Max 1 is the winner because of the classic look, and versatility. Originally released in 1987, as a running shoe, the Air Max 1 has since taken on a life of its own. Air Max’s comfort, and design have now made this into the ultimate casual sneaker. The Nike Air Max 1 ‘Have A Nike Day’ is a warm weather weekend sneaker.
Q:) What to wear with it?
A:) Although the Tinker Hatfield designed sneaker can be virtually worn with anything, pair this sneaker with some dark denim (or joggers), and a lighter color (solid or graphic) tee. Because of the reminiscent ‘A Bathing Ape’ colorway of the sneakers, you can pair it with this clothing line as well, so pull that BAPE out of the closet too.
Q:) You have your outfit, now where are we going?
A:) This is that type of sneaker you’re wearing to brunch on the weekends with bae, while you’re drinking mimosas and having some Eggs Benny! Rock these for all your warm weather activities – the beach, pool party, happy hour at the outside patio bar, etc. With Mardi Gras, Holi, and Easter coming up, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to sport.
These Air Max 1’s are a great looking sneaker, and you can’t beat the price at $120 (Footlocker, Nordstrom, and Eastbay)?! Only problem: they’re selling out quick, so get a pair and be ready for the April Showers and May Flowers!
