Gilded Age – Fall 2011 Men’s Line – Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

Gilded AgeIt’s freezing in New York this week, so climbing the stairs to Gilded Age’s Fall presentation and finding an arctic inspiration—well, you sympathize. You also, handily enough, want to wear plenty of the clothes.

Designer Stefan Miljanic was sure thinking North Pole when he designed the Gilded Age Fall 2011 collection. As you can see he brought his guys in from the cold for a grungy take on outdoorsy layering. Great washed and worn leather jackets, including one with a fur hood, topped hand-knitted patterned sweaters and denim jackets that were belted and worn with tucked-in jeans and boots. All of these looks could have easily walked right out of the presentation and onto the snowy streets, making them Lower East Side and climate-appropriate.

Having designed for Banana Republic, Calvin Klein, and Abercrombie & Fitch, Stefan Miljanic also thought of those milder days when the sun’s melting the ice, therefore outfitting the men for Gilded Age Fall 2011 with a shearling vest or graphic sweater.

See the rest of the Gilded Age Fall 2011 collection on the next page, which is one of impeccable pieces in a layered, almost roguish styling.
