Last night presented for the first time during New York Fashion Week. In an intimate setting at the John Connelly presents contemporary art gallery in Chelsea, guests were greeted with an original film produced by McCracken and his creative contemporaries. Shot on a Super 8, the film captured the sensibility of the line and hinted at of the type of character that may wear McCracken’s creations, in a quiet and understated way.
Six male models and one female stood atop individual platforms, rotating every two minutes, to avoid a stagnant show. In their beautifully tailored and uniquely fabricated looks, a signature of McCracken’s, the models stood strong against the ambient drone sounds composed by Chris Keating from the band, Yeasayer. Some of the standout pieces from the evening’s show included a tailored, hand-made jumpsuit, a resin coated wool parka with shearling lining and triple-button double breasted flay front tailored jackets.
