Galaxy S4 Active designed around life
If you love the Galaxy S4 but want something a little more sturdy, starting today you can pick up a brand spanky new Galaxy S4 Active smartphone from AT&T, in store or online. The S4 Active is a “Whatever-proof” version of the popular Galaxy S4 smartphone, meaning it’s designed around life giving you more opportunity to “USE” the phone. Rubbin’s racin baby and the S4 Active looks like it can take a little bump and grind from everyday life and then some. All of the gloss and shine is nice, but typically everyone covers it up with a case anyway. The S4 is IP67 certified to be water and dust resistant and Aqua mode allows you to capture pictures and videos underwater.
The S4 Active sports a 1.9GHz Qualcomm MDM9215 APQ8064pro Quad-core processor, a 5″ 1829×1979 Full HD TFT display at 441ppi and a 2MP/8MP Front/Rear firing camera, down from the 13MP camera on the S4. Speculation that this is the same camera onboard the S3. There’s also a built-in IR sensor just like on the S4 so you can make your S4 or S4 Active double as your TV remote. 2MB of ram with 16GB of onboard storage and a micro SD slot supporting up to a 64GB micro SD memory card.
There’s also a physical Settings, Home and Back button instead of the normal hotspot operated one found on the S4. The S4 Active’s textured plastic armor plating measures the device slightly larger and heavier than it’s older brother at 139.7 x 71.3 x 9.1 mm (5.5 x 2.81 x 0.36 in) weighing 153 g (5.40 oz) vs the Galaxy S4 at 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm (5.38 x 2.75 x 0.31 in) weighing 130 g (4.59 oz).
