The new 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 looks meaner and packs even more power than the previous models of the Dodge Chargers. It’s meant for drivers who like irritating old people with loud sounds and those who get cheap thrills from feeling one hell of an engine underneath the driver’s seat.
The SRT8 Charger comes with a growling 470 horsepower, 6.4 liter HEMI V8. It also has 470 lb ft. torque that is spread over four wheels and tires each of 20 inches. This beast is all about the bravado and extroverted driving.
The Charger gives most sports sedans a good run for their money. The handling of the Charger is a lot tighter than most sports sedans. The road feel is also impressive because of the revised steering system so much so that the car can stop from 60 to 0 mph in an impressive 120 feet.
The SRT8 Charger is almost the same as its brother, the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8. They both have a very big HEMI, adaptive dampening system, 5 speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The only difference is that the Charger is built to be a pure muscle car. It is much sharper and louder than the Chrysler.
The interior designing of the Charger definitely puts the class into the car’s uber masculine look. The red interior coats the entire door panel and seats, the latter which also exhibits a double stitch of the leather onto the seat. Out of all the other SRT models, this one definitely has the best interior designing.
The Dodge Charger kicks in at the same price as that of an entry level BMW series. For that price we’d say that this car is a steal.
