Are you an aspiring artist eager to showcase the world your world of art? Well, thanks to the newly launched GeneralPublic.Art, your chances just did somersaults in the air.
CEO and Co-founder, Portia de Rossi, wife of the funny blonde we love, Ellen DeGeneres, has a message for the art world: “Support artists. Not art” and via her new company, hopes that General Public will bring the “art world” to the “real world.”
This is exciting news for you because you have probably seen self-publishing do wonders for artists who write, perform, sing, or entertain in so many other ways that today’s technology and social media platforms allow. Probably since the onset of ‘My Space,’ pre-Facebook days, everyone has had the chance to be their own comedian, and even their own reality star.
General Public is using its own technology to bridge artists to the general public; and in essence, the general public to artists.
The technology they are using is called a “SYNOGRAPH™. According to the website, it is “like a photograph” in that the artist can “create multiple works from the original” which in turn makes a masterpiece – or your masterpiece – available to the masses as opposed to one buyer in a gallery. The company is also able to reproduce an “almost identical” textured print of the original work.
If you are an aspiring artist, this could be your time. Click here and scroll down to where it says “We Want You” to learn how to submit your bio and to see how your work can be considered for publication at General Public Collective.
