I remember those breakdancing days when I was younger. Now unfortunately 200 hundred pounds heavier I can’t seem to do a simple cartwheel or hand stand so I’ll leave it to the pros.
Last month over 2.000 fans went out to the Old Moscow Circus and really felt the heat as Red Bull BC One, the B-Boy World Championship, set up camp in the historical building! The old arena that usually sees artistic circus performers and horses was host to the worlds’ best B-Boys showcasing their awe-inspiring acrobatic talent.
It was Roxrite (29, San Francisco) the strategic battle B-Boy, who convinced the judges and crowd with a complete performance – the combination of clean moves, his musicality, his almost unnatural ability to stick freeze combinations and his unique style brought him the win.
The BC One Moscow was Roxrite’s third attempt at the title, having made it to the finals in 2007 and 2008 which only increased his determination. He won almost every big battle in his breakdancing career, only the BC One Champion’s Belt was missing. His ultimate goal was to claim that belt before he hits 30… Mission accomplished!
Roxrite’s victory meant experience won over youthful energy in the final. He went up against Lil G, the 21-year-old power-mover from Venezuela, who had the audience jumping out of their seats with his stunning acrobatic moves. Check out some highlights of what went down in the videos below.
