BMW has officially unveiled their 2015 M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe. Lighter, Faster and Techier complete with new turbocharged engines. The Both the M3 and M4 have a reduction of weight with carbon fiber-reinforced plastic including the sunroof. The 2015 M4 weighs in with a curb weight of 3300 lbs, that’s 176lbs lighter than the M3 for 2015.
More importantly BMW returns to its super popular inline 3.0 six-cylinder configuration used in it’s M3 E36/E46 platform cars along with a little twin-turbo boost gives you a total of 425 horsepower with 406 lb-ft of torque between 1850 to 5500rpm! Max power is achieved between 5500 and 7300 rpm. You can turn off stability control and engage the M Dynamic mode for some drifting action!
The BMW M3 and M4 will be available in a M-DCT transmission and a manual 6-speed gearbox giving you a 0-60 of 3.9 and 4.1 seconds respectively. A double-plate clutch and optional 7-speed M Double Clutch transmission adds on comfort, efficiency and sport modes. The Adaptive M suspension as well as Electric Power Steering will also feature Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes that will operate independantly from one another.
The 2015 M3 and M4 will come equipped with meaty 18inch wheels; 255mm wide front and 275mm wide rears certainly make them look mean. Check out some photos of the new 2015 BMW M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe.
