The Blancpain Villeret with Flinqué Lacquered Dial Watch is a modern day luxury men’s watch, designed in timeless classic style. The unique brilliant blue Flinqué lacquered dial creates beautiful visual depth for this luxury timepiece and the ultra-thin 10.83 mm depth makes it suitable for daily use or in a more formal capacity. Initially released in 2012, the Villeret kept coming back to my mind, this is a beautiful timepiece with loads of character.
Flinqué as defined by the world of horology is the ‘Engraving by hand or by machine, typically covered with a layer of enamel‘. In this case, a machined Flinqué technique of engraving is used along with several layers of translucent blue lacquer to achieve the luster and depth of the sunburst that defines the Villeret.
Housed in a 40mm diameter 18 ct white gold case are the 244 parts and 34 jewels that make up the ultra-slim Calibre 7663Q movement. This complex orchestration of movement and the Villeret collection’s signature sapphire guilloché oscillating weight are visible through the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass that adorns both the front and back.
The Villeret features a 3 day power reserve, hour/minute/second hands, Roman/calendar numerals and a unique Sigmoid style date indicator, all in white gold. A Retrograde 30 second hand resides at the 6 o’clock position adding even more character to this unique luxury timepiece. It comes with an alligator leather strap with Alzevel lining and a folding clasp, also water-resistant to 30 meters. Model 6653Q-1529-55B
