Aston Martin V12 Zagato Aluminum Design Fabricated by Hand

Aston Martin has been producing a barrage of beastly cars (in a good way) in 2011. They first unleashed the One 77, which was of near mythical specifications, the stunningly beautiful Virage and Vantage S and finally the Cygnet. But yet again the company dared to bring forth another contender in the list of swanky cars. The Aston Martin V12 Zagato aluminum design fabricated by hand.

The V12 Zagato, which sports definite influences of the Italian design company, Zagato, is a move away from the current Aston Martin luxury cars that are available. These differences are hard to make for the untrained eye but thanks to the cars’ huge air intake in the front, the wagon style, the double bubble roof and the snake head looking rear end, this car would be a breeze to spot from a mile away.

Most of the exterior designing shows that the car is most definitely not being made by using mass production pre-formed panel techniques. The V12 Zagato’s panels consist of several aluminum plates that have been forged together by using wheeling machines and traditionally crafted body bucks. The front wing and roof are alone made up of 12 separate pieces.

Under the hood, the car is powered by a 510 bhp engine which has  570 Nm of torque. These are the same numbers that anyone will find in the V12 Vantage. The company has yet to release the cars’ performance, but estimates show that one can expect the car to go from 0-60 mph in around 4.2 seconds.

The car will be showcased in a 24 hour race at the Nurburg Ring where the Aston Martin CEO, Dr. Ulrich Bez will be leading a team of drivers.
