Ask Pinstripe Is Flirting on Facebook Cheating?
Richard, Facebook is actually now divorce lawyers new best friend. You probably think you are the only one flirting on social media sites but actually surprise, about 20 percent of adults use Facebook for flirting. So is that normal and acceptable? If you are married this can easily ruin you in divorce court.
Forget about just flirting. Over-sharing on facebook like writing on people’s walls or updating status has lead to a huge evidence in divorce cases already, not to mention slip ups with photos and being tagged in photos. Remember nothing is private and a judge or lawyer can easily have access to look into your facebook account/s.
Examples from Associated Press:
— Husband goes on Match.com and declares his single, childless status while seeking primary custody of said nonexistent children.
— Husband denies anger management issues but posts on Facebook in his “write something about yourself” section: “If you have the balls to get in my face, I’ll kick your ass into submission.”
— Father seeks custody of the kids, claiming (among other things) that his ex-wife never attends the events of their young ones. Subpoenaed evidence from the gaming site World of Warcraft tracks her there with her boyfriend at the precise time she was supposed to be out with the children. Mom loves Facebook’s Farmville, too, at all the wrong times.
— Mom denies in court that she smokes marijuana but posts partying, pot-smoking photos of herself on Facebook.
So Richard, not only is flirting on facebook cheating it can also ruin your life and make it easy for a judge to find you guilty in court if going through a divorce.
