Ashton Kutcher plays Steve Jobs in the upcoming indie film, Jobs

Originally known for his goofball role on that 70’s show as Kelso and ex-husband of actress Demi Moore, the film star Ashton Kutcher will play the Silicon Valley visionary and tech mogul Steve Jobs in an upcoming indie film called “Jobs”. The director is Joshua Michael Stern, director of Swing Vote. The movie will begin production in May of 2012 and will chronicle Steve Job’s life from childhood to creating Apple in his garage with the help of the Mr. Wozniak, the Woz.

Ashton has recently replaced Charlie Sheen on the popular sit com Two and a Half Men and his role in  The Butterfly Effect solidified him as, not just another pretty face. Kutcher and Jobs appear very similar in their youth and Ashton will make a great Steve Jobs in the upcoming indie film. Sony Pictures is also reportedly developing a movie about Steve, it will be interesting to contrast the two.

The originally made for TV movie, the Pirates of Silicon Valley was the last movie about Steve Jobs back in the 1999 starring Anthony Michael Hall as Bill Gates and Noah Wyle as Steve Jobs. A very interesting tale of the two computer giants who started it all in the 70s and 80s, Microsoft and Apple computer.
