The new Apple Thunderbolt Display was recently launched by Apple. It is the ultimate docking station for a MacBook and also has the latest Thunderbolt I/O Display. The 27 inch Thunderbolt Display can be attached to any Thunderbolt enabled Mac with the help of a single cable. Users can then access high quality audio, FaceTime camera, and also Gigabit Internet. Other accessible features are Thunderbolt ports, USB 2.0 and Firewire 800. The screen itself is quite thin and elegant and has a glass and aluminum enclosure. You can also charge your MacBook Pro or your MacBook Air with the help of a Magsafe connector.
The Thunderbolt display comes with four primary features:
1) IPS technology – The Display uses an IPS Panel, or In Plane Switching technology in order to give beautiful image display along a 178 degree viewing angle. It also has a 16:9 edge to edge glass design.
2) Light Sensor – The Thunderbolt Display also comes with another feature called the ambient light sensor. It senses the amount of external lighting that is reflected onto the screen, and it then automatically adjusts the display brightness on the screen. The display options of the device meets Energy Star 5.0 requirements and achieves EPEAT Gold Status.
3) Thunderbolt – The Monitor has the Thunderbolt Display feature which is the world’s first I/O technology that has two bi directional channels that can reach high speeds of up to 10 Gbps each. It also supports DisplayPort that has the capacity to support most adapters, these including, VGA, HDMI as well as DVI displays.
4) FaceTime HD Camera – The ThunderBolt Display also comes loaded with a HD camera which enables video conferencing as well as web video and video chat.
