Apple iPhone 5s available Sept 20th, iPhone 5c pre-order Sept 13th 2013
You can finally throw away your speculations and axe the rumor mill. The new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c have been announced and go on sale for pre-order Sept 13th 2013 and available in stores on Sept 20th in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore and UK. iOS 7 is going to be free for everyone on any device! Unfortunately the iPhone 5s is not going to be available for pre-order. That means you’ll be sitting on line at your local Apple store if you want one on launch day.
iPhone 5c
The iPhone 5c comes equipped with a 4 inch retina display sRGB standard, 3x video zoom, an 8MP iSight camera, BSI, hybrid IR filter and 5-element lens, New Facetime HD camera that’s even better in lowlight, a 1.9-micron pixel size, BSI and FaceTime audio. It also supports more LTE bands than any other smartphone in the world. dual-band WiFi abgn, and BT 4.0.
The iPhone 5c will be available in 5 colors with a line of custom cases to protect your new toy. Comes in Blue, white, pink, yellow and green. The iPhone 5c will be available in a 16GB for $99 and a 32GB for $199. The iPhone 5c is made of a hard-coated polycarbonate plastic “inside it’s built with a new construction method that uses a reinforced steel structure.
iPhone 5s
The iPhone 5s “It’s the most forward-thinking phone we’ve ever created.” equipped with the world’s first A7 64-bit Chip. The A7 is a modern instruction set, with 2x general purpose registers, 2x floating point registers, over 1 billion transistors and 100 square mm die size. It runs both 32-bit and 64-bit apps with xcode support, optimizing all the native apps to make use of the new A7 CPU performance. Supposed to be 56x faster than the original iPhone. OpenGL ES 3.0 “will enable breakthroughs in performance for graphics-intensive games.” Gameplay looks beautiful as expected from Apple. But if you’re looking for a larger screen, you’ll be holding your breath until the iPhone 6 next year. The iPhone 5s along with the iPhone 5c remain at a 4 inch screen size. Pre-Order for the iPhone 5c begins Sept 13th, but no mention of a pre-order date for the iPhone 5s. Looks like if you want a 5s on launch day, you’ll have to show up and sit on that ridiculous line on launch day Sept 20th or settle for placing your order online that day.
The new iPhone 5s comes with the M7 motion co-processor, it continuously measures motion data along with accelerometer, gyroscope, compass support. A new CoreMotion API will allow a new generation of health and fitness apps based on contextual awareness and identifies user movement.
Battery life on the iPhone 5s is 10 hours 3G talk time, 250 hours standby; or 10 hours LTE browsing, 40 hours music playback.
The iPhone 5s gets a spanky new 5-element lens with f/2.2 aperture, designed by Apple with a 15% larger active sensor area. Autofocus Matrix Metering, Image stabilization, new True Tone flash with over 1,000 unique flash variations. Burst mode gives you up to 10 fps for action shots and the A7 can pick the best one for you. Slow motion video is also supported at 120fps in 720p HD with the ability to select which parts of the video are to be in slow motion. iOS 7 is optimized to make the best use of the new camera hardware.
Biometric Authentication or Touch ID allows the iPhone 5s to read your fingerprint to unlock your phone! The sensor is 170 microns thin, 500 ppi resolution, scans sub-epidermal skin layers and has 360-degree readability and is built right into the home button, awesome. It can read multiple fingerprints and a stainless steel detection ring allows the device to recognize your finger is on it so you don’t have to push. You can also use your finger print sensor to authenticate iTunes purchases.
The iPhone 5s will be available for 16GB $199, 32GB is $299 and 64GB is $399 with a 2 year contract.
