A Man You Should Know – Alejandro Ingelmo and his Wooster Boot for Spring/Summer 2011

Alejandro Ingelmo Portrait
Last year in September of 2010 I had a chance to visit Alejandro Ingelmo’s new boutique where he gave me a sneak peek of his Spring/Summer 2011 shoe line. For those of you interested in seeing his new Spring/Summer collection you can visit his store located on 51 Wooster Street, New York City. One particular boot that stands out from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection is the Wooster boot, which retails for $395. These high-top oxford boots are based on a sneaker (upper portion having a foam collar), but mixed with an oxford style. The black comes in a vitello leather with natural welt and black tread, and the sand and grey come in a distressed waxy leather with white tread. This is a new silhouette for the NYC shoe designer.

Born and raised with Cuban influences in Miami, Florida, and educated at Parsons New School for Design, Inglemo’s signature style maintains, the sexy allure of his heritage, while incorporating a powerfully directional New York edge.

Based on the success of his women’s line, Ingelmo added a men’s collection for Spring/Summer 2007 season. The collection featured luxury trainers and dress shoes in fabrications such as mirrored metallics and bronzed pythons. You can see celebrities like Jay Z and Justin Timberlake wearing Alejandro Ingelmo’s shoes. The men’s line can be found at the following stores: Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, and Jeffrey.

Make sure you get your hands on the next big thing in boots. See the Wooster Boot on the next page.
