8 Must-Have Items To Put In Your Lacrosse Bag

There’s a lot of equipment in lacrosse, which makes a big bag completely necessary. What you put in that bag can also set you up for success in many ways. Whether you are attending a recruiting camp or playing in a men’s league with the boys to relive the glory days, make it a priority to have these must-have items in your lacrosse bag.

The Gear Itself

As you assemble your must-have items to put in your lacrosse bag, make sure you have what you need to play first! Gloves, shoulder pads, arm guards, cleats, stick, rib pads, helmet, cup, pinnies, a mouth guard or two, and more should all be able to fit in your bag. When you start by packing the most essential gear, you ensure you are always ready to go right before a game or practice.

Deodorizer

Now, having all that gear packed and ready in your bag is great, but the reality is that these items can also produce a harsh odor after a day on the field. There are two ways you can keep your bag from smelling bad. The first is to regularly clean your gear, which will also keep it looking fresh. The other great option is to put a deodorizer or dryer sheet in your lacrosse equipment bag—those around you will thank you for it.

Tape

Another item you should have stocked away in your lacrosse bag is tape. You will want to have tape for your lacrosse shaft readily available since it tends to wear down over time, and you may need to retape it right before a game or practice. Athletic tape might also be necessary for you to help your body recover and avoid injury.

Recovery Tools

Speaking of avoiding injury, having some other recovery tools in your bag can also be a great asset. Water Bottle and Snacks

Since it’s summertime, lacrosse players also need to be ready for long days out in the sun when they are at tournaments or camps. Stay hydrated by keeping a water bottle in your bag (along with some healthy snacks to eat in between games). Protein bars are excellent choices to store in a bag’s pockets; just don’t forget to throw out any food you leave in there!
