Everyone wants to make sure they can handle the physical activity their body craves. However, it can be difficult to notice if you’re actually physically fit. As the New Year approaches, assess where you’re at physically, and use the holiday to improve your health as a personal resolution. We point out some obvious signs you are out of shape so that you can get moving.
You Have A Large Waist
While many people think weight gain signals that you’re out of shape, but that’s not necessarily true. Instead, see if you have an unhealthy waist line or you have large love handles. If you measure your waist size and it’s more than 35 inches, you’ll want to start making a couple changes to your daily routine.
You Get Out of Breath Easily
If you find yourself out of breath after walking upstairs in your home, this is a major sign you are out of shape. You breathe heavily because your heart rate speeds up much more quickly than it should. When you work out, you increase your lung capacity because breathing is such an important part of any exercise. Perform cardio exercises on machines made for them to help with your stamina and improve your breathing.
You Have No Energy
When you aren’t healthy, this typically equates to you not having the energy to do more important things. When you work out, you need to exert energy, and as a result you increase your ability to stay moving throughout the day. Working out can give you a great energy boost over time, and it can make you more productive.
You Can’t to do a Push Up
A simple test you can do at home is to perform a push up. A push up is great because it causes you to use your shoulders, arms, abs, and back, and you can use it to gauge your fitness. If you find yourself struggling to do more than five, then you may want to get back into a workout routine.
