Avenue NYC Re-Opens with Private After Party for Z100’s Jingle Ball
After a multi month full renovation, TAO Group partner Jonathan Schwartz hosted a night full of stars at the all new Avenue in New York City with a private after party for Z100’s Jingle Ball on Friday night. The newly designed lounge which officially reopens this week threw its doors open on Friday for The Chainsmokers, Halsey, G-Eazy and the Cheat Codes who all arrived together post show. Other guests spotted at the sneak-peak were Mets’ pitcher Noah Syndergaard and Vic Mensa. Later in the evening, Rihanna made a surprise appearance with Orange Is The New Black star Dascha Polanco. As the star-studded night raged on, G-Eazy jumped into the DJ booth housed under a grand spiral staircase and performed his hit “No Limit”.
Avenue is New York City’s most sought-after late night haunt and go-to meeting place for bold-faced names, including Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Halsey, Alicia Keys and Marc Jacobs. Re-designed by the Rockwell Group, the 3,000 square-foot space evokes the intrigue of a grand, French villa and has dramatically been transformed from a two-story lounge into a vast, single story room with 30-foot high ceilings. Guests now enter Avenue NY through a trellised façade covered in vines with the original Avenue signage and gradually make their way down a hallway before entering the intimate lounge space. Teal-tufted leather banquettes line the rectangular room set against floor to ceiling walnut wainscoting wall panels covered with massive blackened mirrors and LED framing, red-pleated lamp shades and gold gilded trim. A quartz-covered bar set under a 13-foot long by 8-foot tall HD video wall anchors one end of the lounge while an elegant spiral staircase sits at the other end and connects to a newly constructed mezzanine overlooking the dance floor below. A four-foot disco ball floats above the dance floor, while the DJ booth is housed underneath the spiral staircase. The entire space merges ornate, old world design, modern finishes, and technology to create a layered, luxurious, and immersive environment that seems to have no boundaries.
