iPhone 5 sells out pre-orders in 1 hour at 2 million units
The new iPhone 5 went on sale this past Friday at Midnight and in a matter of an hour, Apple sold out 2 million units for pre-order of the much talked about iPhone 5. The majority of the pre-orders will be delivered on the launch date this Friday the 21st.
Last year’s iPhone 4S sold over 1 million units in it’s first 24 hours up from 600,000 pre-orders from the iPhone 4 two years ago. A second wave of smartphone orders will be shipping by the first week of October if you aren’t able to brave the lines for this Friday at your local Apple stores.
Even Sprint, AT&T and Verizon have sold out of their initial wave of iPhone 5 units with 1-2 week delays in shipment availability. Keep checking as this will change as the demand is filled.
