Pre-installed with Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich, the device is not slippery to hold and the design is pleasant to hold and look at. The shiny Gorilla glass 2 increases touch sensitivity for ease of use while protecting with an even stronger and thinner formula of Gorilla Glass. The resolution of the screen is great and displays very natural colors and for most will be more then plenty. With that said, it’s not a Retina display but it’s plenty smooth for most consumers.

Let’s move onto some of the key new features of the Galaxy S III smartphone device

An excellent new and improved feature is S-Beam. S-Beam uses existing Android Beam technology but is enhanced by NFC or Near Field Communication and WiFi Direct. S-Beam utilizes these protocals to send larger files directly to another device simply by holding them close back to back, set the file to send, confirm it and then you can walk away within a small room and the file will transfer. Share video files, documents, music, pictures direct peer to peer and pretty darn quick too! Sharing media is what it’s all about with the Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone device, making it fun and easier to share with friends and family.

So you take some video of the guys on vacation or of your girl, AllShare Play allows you to stream your video and audio to Samsung smart TV‘s, tablets and phones via SugarSync. Group Cast through AllShare Play lets you stream out to a group of users simultaneously for presentations, quick file sharing and informative meetings where there isn’t a bad seat in the house.

Are you tired of sending pics to the guys one at a time? Share Shot allows you to use Wi-Fi Direct to share photos automatically with people you choose as you shoot them and works in the background so it doesn’t interfere with your activities.

With Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running the show, you will also experience the added benefits of S-Voice which are voice commands for commonly used tasks like music player, camera, alarm clock. Powered by Vlingo, S-Voice is a speech-to-text personal assistant for for your Android device like Siri for iPhone.

The Galaxy SIII comes equipped with tons of Google apps and services to help give you some very convenient functionality that are great to use like native gmail, google maps, turn-by-turn navigation and lots of other applications and functionality to make your life easier and let you focus on the important things in life.

Since the Galaxy SIII is a media centric phone, lets take a moment to check out the camera. The improved 8-megapixel camera included gives some crisp images and is extremely responsive. For those moments where you need some quick snaps, the Samsung Galaxy SIII is capable of taking up to 16 consecutive shots. Burst Shot allows you to hold down the shutter button and watch it go. No camera is perfect and like the iPhone 4s or any other smartphone camera, you will experience problems in low lighting conditions or when you have extremes in brights and darks in the same frame. However the camera takes great pictures and video, again mileage will vary.  Another noteworthy digital camera feature of the Galaxy S III is Smart Stay, which tracks the eye movement of your shooting subject and lights up the screen when everyone is looking at your camera.

It’s all about media today and who can resist Pop Up Play. Pop Up Play enables the ability to watch any side-loaded video content and move it around your screen like picture in picture whilst in any application.

Samsung has also released along with the Samsung Galaxy S III, their version of the QR code called TecTiles. TecTiles are stickers with electronic metal bands inside that act like QR codes. All you have to do is download the free app, program your TecTile sticker and stick it anywhere to pass out info, settings, share an address, collect info, open a website and much more! TecTiles use Near Field Communication technology to transmit your settings from your Samsung Galaxy S III to your TecTile.
