Kenda, a Mexican American, drop-dead gorgeous actress and host has a modeling career that places her among the many beautiful women in Maxim’s “Hometown Hotties” and features in numerous publications like Fight! Magazine, 944 Magazine, UFC Magazine and now Pinstripe Magazine. She also stars in THE BEST OF PRIDE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS on FUEL TV.
THE BEST OF PRIDE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS airs every Thursday at 9/6p ET/PT on FUEL TV. When did you start modeling?
My first photo shoot was at 12 years old. I knew right then I loved being in front of the camera.
What’s your nationality?
Mexican American.
What state do you reside in?
California.
What made you get into MMA fighting?
Well, I don’t fight and have never trained in MMA. My career of modeling and television hosting has led me to an amazing job with the UFC hosting a show called The Best of Pride Fighting on FUEL TV. Since joining the company I’ve fallen in love with MMA more and more everyday!
Have you trained?
The closest thing I do in my work-out to fighting is hitting pads with my trainer. I love it!
Have you ever had to use your fighting skills with anyone?
LOL! I have NO fighting skills and no, I’ve never been in a fight.
I might have been the cause of a few, but never in one.
Tell us how you got involved with THE BEST OF PRIDE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS?
I was working with Maxim Magazine after doing a shoot with them back in 2007 and was doing a lot of on-camera promotion for them. UFC saw me, called me in, and the rest is history.
What else will you be doing besides hosting or what does the hosting gig entail?
I’m at all the UFC events, fights, expos, gym grand openings – all the fun stuff. I do numerous radio and magazine interviews. The best part of my job is all the traveling I do from state to state, country to country.
Have you ever thought of competing in MMA for women?
No.
What else are you into when you are not modeling, hosting or involved with MMA?
I love extreme sports! Watching and doing. I live near the beach so I’m always down there riding my bike, roller blading, playing volleyball, catching the US Open of Surfing, watching the X Games. I love to snowboard in the winter. I promised myself I’d jump out of an airplane this year so I’m getting my mind right for that adrenalin rush!
Are you single or in a relationship? How long?
Single, for about 4 years now.
So are you looking?
I’m SUPER focused on my work right now. I love what I do and I’m very blessed and fortunate, so I’m taking advantage of the opportunities I have right now to give 100% of myself to my work because it won’t be that way forever. One day I’ll settle down and be a part of one amazing power couple.
So what’s next for you?
Work, work, work. I just wrapped the second season of The Best of Pride for the UFC on FUEL TV. I film every week in San Francisco with BleacherReport.com hosting The Ultimate Show. I released my first calendar this year. I’m constantly doing new photo shoots for magazines, working with Travis Barker representing his company Famous Stars and Straps and having a blast being a part of the family. Also, the ink is drying right now on signing a deal with a huge athletic wear company that I’m super excited about. My plan is pretty much to stay busy and get involved with as much as I can. I’d love to broaden my hosting into entertainment and travel and possibly get into acting. You will definitely be seeing my face and name in the lime light! : )
