Almost 15 years after the launch of the original Porsche Boxster and the latest edition to the family is out. The new Porsche Boxster for 2012 is more than just a refinement to the already popular, fun car and it has evolved into something more than a roadster, adding horsepower, handling, innovation and technology, this is not the same Boxster from years ago. You may want to take a second look.
Porsche offers two engine types for the new Boxster both are flat-six engines with Direct Fuel Injection and VarioCam Plus. The new Porsche Boxster comes equipped with a 2.7 liter flat-six engine, generating 265 hp at 670 rpm with 206 foot lbs of torque at 4500-6500 rpm while the Boxster S is upgraded with a 3.4 liter engine that delivers 315 horsepower at 6700 rpm and 266 lbft at 4500-5800 rpm.
The Leather package offers this beautiful two-tone black and lime green cover for your buck seats and interior space in the new Porsche Boxster. A 6-speed manual gearbox with optional Koppelkupplung transmission and optional Sport Chrono package is available for the Boxster S.
Your choice of 18-19 inch Boxster or Boxster S wheels, with optional 20 inch Porsche Carrera S, Classic or SportTechno Wheels. Being a mid-engine car, one of the great benefits is that even though you don’t have a back seat, you have a convertible performance car with trunk space in the boot and bonnet! Very convenient for those who like to travel a bit further with their elegant roadster.
Check it out at the NY International Auto Show this week at the Jacob K. Javits Center in NYC.
