Audi R8 GT Spyder convertible NY International Auto Show
This is one beauty we couldn’t keep away from and the model wasn’t bad looking either. Audi showcased their limited edition supercar, the Audi R8 GT Spyder Convertible at the NY International Auto Show and what a work of art she really is. This German engineered driving high-performance machine comes equipped with a 560hp 5.2 liter V10 aluminum alloy, mid-mounted longitudinal, continuous intake and exhaust camshaft adjustment, DOHC chain driven, Audi FSI direct injection engine that can achieve a 0-60 mph in 3.8 sec, with a top speed of 198 mph at 560hp at 8000 rpm with 398 lb. ft at 6500 rpm.

This car is equipped with a patented 6-speed Audi R-Tronic sequential automatic transmission, (say that 10 times quickly), aluminum double wishbone suspension all around with 14″ ventilated front brake rotors with eight piston calipers, 14″ rear ventilated discs with four piston calipers and what’s an Audi without the Quattro system. You can upgrade to ceramic brakes or carbon ceramic brakes with red anodized calipers to accent your supercar and add stopping power.
19″ 5 twin-spoke Y design Titanium-finish alloy wheels are standard for the Audi R8 GT Spyder Convertible, upgradable to a 5 arm double spoke or 5 twin spoke Y design matte silver alloy to compliment the matte style paint job. The interior on the R8 GT Spyder offers all the amenities that you would want to have in a luxury super car. Driver+passenger side dual-stage airbags with driver+passenger head and knee airbags to keep you safer in the event of an accident. The Electronic Stabilization Program and Hill Hold assist allow to keep you worrying less about things you need and more about the driving experience ahead of you.
As you get pressed into your seats as your screaming from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, you’ll appreciate having the Audi RS GT race seats. You’ll need them when your holding on as the G’s build and you enter the corners of those twisties.
The GT race inspired design of the R8 GT Spyder Convertible are complimented with an array of carbon fiber to enhance the luxury and race feel of the interior. Carbon fiber rear hatch, quarter panels and bumpers allow for a weight reduction bringing the curb weight for the Audi R8 GT Spyder Convertible to 3362 lbs. Full LED daytime running and headlights along with DVD-based satellite navigation with a Bang & Olufsen sound system are also standard.
Audi plans to make 333 of the R8 GT Spyder Convertibles, of which only 90 of the limited edition supercars will make it to the United States.
