Sony NEX-FS700U Full HD Super Slow Mo
Sony was the staple of technology in the 1980’s when they introduced the Sony watchman, discman and Sony walkman, the iPod of its day. Entering into the HD video market with the release of the Sony HDR-HC1 in 2005, Sony has been steadily making HD cameras ever since and has now released their latest and greatest, NEX -FS700 Full HD 1080p resolution, Super Slow motion camera. Sony still makes great high-end products.
The Sony NEX-FS700 Full HD Super Slow Motion Camcorder is a super 35mm designed for high-speed shooting and able to capture up to a sexy 960 frames per second giving you an ultra-smooth, ultra-clear HD quality picture that you will be amazed by. In addition to the traditional NTSC or PAL formats for recording, the user is able to switch between 40/60Hz allowing the flexibility to record and output in any geographical region without restriction.
While certainly a professional level HD camcorder, the Sony NEX-FS700 will allow easier and more seamless workflow to create beautiful HD video using built-in video effects and filters although it is probably a bit of an overkill for the everyday guy. Shooting at Full 1080p video, the camera can shoot at 120 fps or 240fps in 8 or 16 second bursts. This may not seem like a lot, but the human eye only needs 30 fps to trick the brain into believing the motion is seamless. The NEX-FS700 is able to change lenses as well as shoot in super slow motion and the provides versatility in adjusting frame rates and allowing for more creative options when shooting on site.
Engineered around a 4k Exmore Super 35 CMOS sensor, the NEX-FS700U is able to snap HD stills at 11.6 million pixels. The NXCAM line of Sony HD camcorders offers the convenience of E-Mount, with the help of some adapters from Sony, will accept most all SLR and DSLR 35mm lenses! Now isn’t that special! Auto-focus, Face detection software, built-in ND filters and ND filter wheel that allows the operator a quick easy way to scroll through positions for Clear, 1/4 (2 Stop), 1/16 (4 Stop), and 1/64 (6 Stop).
Digital ports allow almost any external recorder to be paired with the NEX-FS700 and 3G HD-SDI output along with HDMI give you the convenience of outputting in 50p,60p, HD 60i, 24p, 25p or 30p frame rates, 3G HD-SDI 23.98, 29.97 progressive signal, or output PsF over the 3G HD-SDI. Up to 99 custom profile settings can be saved to a memory card and if your lucky enough to have access to multiple NEx-FS700U’s, you can plug in that memory card and load your settings to that camera. Supports SD cards, Memory stick cards, Sony’s HXR-FMU128 flash memory.
The NEX-FS700 is comfortable to hold and more importantly feels well built, the Active Grip handle, that is also detachable, is fashioned with 4 large easy to use buttons for expanded focus, auto iris, still capture and recording start/stop. Now the bad news, the NEX-FS700U or NEX-FS700E in Europe, will have to wait for a firmware upgrade to enable the 4k bit-stream output from the 3G-HD-SDI port.
If your looking for the best in video HD camcorders and you are a guy with a little bit of FU money in your pocket, the NEX-FS700U is a winner.
