Even though the iPad2 was released a few short months ago, but rumors of an iPad 3 may be true. Buzz has been popping up all over the web about the release of an “iPad2 Plus” or maybe an iPad3. The device is also rumored to have enhanced digital display, as well as the capacity to support 1080 HD video. Whatever the rumors maybe, the truth is that the new iPad is shifting home base, and Apple will look for a new manufacturer for the new tablet.
Taiwan Economic News said that Apple will shift its production base from Foxconn to Pegatron. Pegatron has reportedly already won over a production agremment for 15 million units of the iPhone 5 from Apple. This is a big shift for Apple as far as its partnership with manufacturing companies is concerned since Foxconn was almost exclusively producing iPhones and iPads.
It may also be the reputation that Foxconn holds that made Apple change their decision. Foxconn was well known for having many reported cases where there were worker suicides as well as bomb blasts in the factory. Apple may also want to increase its production in order to avoid supply bottlenecks like it had to deal with during the production of the iPad 2.
However, the shifting of their database has not been officially announced by Apple and all other chain partnerships for the other iPad models will remain the same.
There were also news reports that the iPhone 5 was likely to be released in the second week of September, and if there truly is an iPad 3 release, then this would be postponed until sometime in November
