Porsche Design P’6520 Compass Watch Remake Priced At $6,000. Porsche design has gone retro (yet again), with the release of the Porsche Design P’6520 Compass Watch. The original Compass watch was made with a measurement of 38 millimeters in aluminum.
However, the modern model is a 42 millimeter wide titanium watch. It also has a stronger and harder metal case and has a PVD coating that is superior to the original model’s, this is only because the use of PVD coatings and Titanium was still very new in the ‘70s when the original model had come out. However, today’s methods of using the two are a lot more mature and therefore have resulted in a far superior quality of the Porsche Design Compass Watch.
The case of the watch was first sandblasted before the PVD coating could be put. The resultant look is a glossy one with an amazingly smooth tactile experience. The feel is something that you’ll have to experience yourself as the watch feels absolutely wonderful to just run your finger over with. The dial of the watch lifts up to reveal a mirror (which Porsche Design guarantees is scratch resistant) as well as a traditional liquid compass. The case itself is around 50 meters water resistant and the crystal on the watch is of course sapphire.
Porsche Design, however will only be releasing around 911 models of the watch and the price range is around $6,000. We really liked this model and hope to see what Porsche Design has to offer us in the future.
