ATT Wireless Unveils 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot and Wireless Card
Dont’ get too comfortable Verizon Wireless, here comes AT&T with their first two 4G LTE products. The cellphone heavyweight is releasing a new laptop card the USBConnect Momentum 4G. Whewh, that was a long name… And also a mobile hot-spot device called the Elevate 4G. AT&T will showcasing this at a company event today.

“The two devices shouldn’t be confused with AT&T phones and products that currently carry the 4G tag. The two new products will be compatible with a flavor of 4G called Long-Term Evolution, which also powers the network that Verizon Wireless has been tirelessly touting in recent months.”

AT&T has plans to launch the 4G LTE network of their own 5 this summer and 15 by years’ end. By Upgrading and utilizing T-mobile USA’s footprint, they rebranded a portion of it’s 3G network known as HSPA+ so they can continue stating that they are the Fastest Nationwide Network in the United States. Even though Verizon has had their 4GLTE deployed for 77 cities now and projecting to cover 175 by years’ end, and AT&T has answered by speeding up and unveiling ahead of schedule both the new hardware and 4G LTE network deployment.
Being a Verizon customer isn’t as much of a clear line as it used to be and AT&T seems to offer both competitive pricing as well as performance, dispite the crows of coverage and price by Verizon Wireless. Let’s face it, being able to surf and talk simultaneously in this data age is unbelievably convenient, so much so that you will become reliant on it once you have it and wonder how you ever lived without the ability.

The Momentum laptop card will be $49.99, with a warm fuzzy two-year contract and the Elevate hot-spot device will cost $69.99 also with an equally warm and fuzzy two-year contract. The Elevate has a color 1.77-inch LCD display that shows the Wi-Fi network name and security key. Weighing only 3.6 ounces, it can be used for up to five hours and connect up to five devices. Like the Momentum, it has a slot to allow for a 32GB memory card.
