The Fedora hat is one of those hats where picking one out should have just as much importance as picking out a pair of shoes. Typically, a Fedora hat is one that is defined by felt material, with a pinched front of the crown and full wrap-around brim. It sometimes comes with a band around the hat and might even fashion a feather.
One important thing to remember about a Fedora is that it is worn as part of the attire. Therefore it should not be confused with accessories for men. So remember, when buying a Fedora hat, think about what you’re going to wear with as well and don’t just bask in the glory of how good you already look in it. As tempting as that might be, the Fedora hat sets the standards, you don’t. The Color code should remain consistent throughout the entire outfit.
Things to remember when wearing a Fedora. It should always be worn with a slight tilt, either to the left or to the right. Fedora hats are always tilted slightly forward as well. Don’t overdo it though, as it is quite easy for that to happen (For more details on how to wear a Fedora, watch any movie with Humphrey Bogart).
As for the front, It is up to you to either turn it up or turn it down, depending on what you think works better for your face. Remember that it depends on how confident you are with wearing the hat. If you’re not too comfortable with it, then no one else will. So if you’re not sure about wearing a Fedora, I suggest rather not picking up one.
