5 Truly Amazing Travel Destinations to See

Travel Destinations to See

Once a year, you’ll probably think of travel destinations you’ve never been to before. I’m sure you know this quote. No matter how cliché it may sound, the truth is, a trip to a new place will enrich your knowledge, make you feel better, healthier and more energized.

Mingling with the locals, eating new food, change of scenery – these are only a few things that make traveling to new vacation destinations worth your time and money.

It is challenging to pick only five amazing travel destinations when the world is abundant with magical places that wait for you to discover them.

Travel Destinations to See1. The Pyramids in Egypt

As someone whose life dream was to see the Pyramids of Giza and feel the spirit of ancient Egypt, it’s logical to put this location on the pedestal. It is surreal to see these royal tombs that date back to 2560 BC, and once you stood in front of them you realize how small and temporary you are. The pyramids are grand in every meaning of the word. If you are one of those people who want to see the Seven Wonders of the World, I suggest you start with the Pyramids first.

2. The Grand Canyon, USA

It is enormous, and it’s a real natural miracle. The canyon was naturally carved for thousands of years and has massive rocks that will take your breath away. Keep in mind that this is a popular tourist area, so you might want to book a tour. The best time of the year for visits is March to May and then September to November when the weather is bearable and not so hot (but also the crowds aren’t crazy as they are during the summer months).

Travel Destinations to See3. Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Where do I start with Bora Bora? This is perhaps the closest to heaven. So many nuances of blue and turquoise will tranquil you and would make you want to stay there forever. The perfection that is this place is equally beautiful as you see it on pictures. Once you get there you will realize that you have never been to a proper beach vacation before. It’s a place you will always want to return.

4. Barcelona, Spain

According to BarcelonaExclusivePrivateTours, once you step in this Spanish city, located on the very coast of the Mediterranean, your eyes open a little wider to soak in all the colors and the unique architecture. The city is the home of the famous Sagrada Familia, a cathedral that is still under construction. Besides this Gaudi masterpiece, Barcelona welcomes its tourists in Park Guel, Tibidabo Amusement Park, Montjuïc, the Jewish Quarter, La Rambla and endless bars and restaurants that offer local food and drinks. My last trip to Barcelona turned out just amazing because I already had booked most of my tours with this excellent tour company (here is their Facebook page).

5. Petra, Jordan

This is another of the Seven Wonders of the World and with a perfectly good reason. Petra dates from 312 BC and is entirely carved in sandstone hills (everything from houses, street, temples, tombs). The whole city seems like a movie set (no wonder Indiana Jones was filmed here). If you have enough energy and will to climb over eight hundred steps you will get to the Monastery (don’t worry, the road is not so difficult, plus you will meet many locals that are selling all sorts of souvenirs, clothes, jewelry). While you are here, make sure to go the Best View of Petra (don’t let the hot weather change your mind). If you aren’t a fan of hiking uphill, you can go for a camel ride or take pictures in front of Petra entrance. If you want to have a different experience, book tickets for a night visit when Petra is enlightened by thousands of candles (the entry is free for children under the age of 12).
